These urban views, all taken in Paris, are like fanciful fictions. In all these pictures, I look at the sun in front. Sometimes streetlights appear, illuminated by the sun: they give the illusion of being themselves sources of light. But above all, in this set of clichés, I try and explore the Photographic medium through the famous “flare”. I ambitioned to exploit it, to summon it as the main and favorable element, to measure its graphic and chromatic abilities. This light, which is generally called “parasite”, I wanted to make it my ally. It plays an important structuring role and participates in the subject or atmosphere of these photos: it crosses the path of the characters, like a surprising presence (accidental? playful? benevolent? dramatic?).
